It's that time of year again, when everyone's favorite pink-feathered friends make their landing in Summit. THE FLAMINGOS ARE COMING!

And yes, even though we know the official name for a group of flamingos is a flamboyance, that word doesn't work as a verb, so SIGN UP TO GET FLOCKED!

New birds, longer stays, and congratulatory signs are all a part of this year's experience. DON'T MISS OUT!

DEADLINE TO ORDER IS FRIDAY, APRIL 17. 

Parents of Juniors (or younger kids, if you're up for it!), we need YOUR help to make this fun Summit tradition happen. 

YOUR MISSION: Help a group of flamingos land safely at a senior's house. You'll be tasked with moving a group of 15-ish birds plus one fun congratulatory sign onto the lawn of an unsuspecting senior. You'll flock approximately 4 houses, which will be located in close approximation. Should you choose to go stealth mode and wear all black, that's up to you. Should you choose to create a fun pattern with the birds in the yard, that's also up to you. Just make sure our feathered friends arrive safely -- we don't want to upset the flock.

If you think you're up to the task, and you want to have a lot of fun and perhaps even have fun stories after the fact, WE WANT YOU.

It was a long, crazy, SNOWY winter. Did you know that our custodians had to spend the night at the school on multiple occasions to make sure the parking lots were cleared and ready for everyone to arrive at school? Since this winter was so brutal and our hard-working custodial staff had to go above and beyond this year, the PTO decided to show them a little extra love with a special lunch last week. You can see below that it was a big hit. 

The PTO is already looking ahead to next year, and we need some dedicated people to help out on a couple of committees...

-- STAFF APPRECIATION COMMITTEE: This is an AWESOME opportunity to get face time with your kid's teachers! Help us show some love to our amazing staff throughout the year. Organize staff appreciation events (don't worry, you'll ask for volunteers for the big stuff, and the current committee leads will give you the calendar for the other events). 

-- FLAMINGO COMMITTEE: Help us keep the tradition flying (do flamingos fly??) by helping to organize the flocking...put together the signups and get the flamingos out on their first assignment and back to school safely at the end of the adventure. (Again, our current committee has all the details and can share with you.) This one is focused at the end of the year only.
