SUBJECT: SHS PTO Weekly News: Feb. 23 - 27

WEEK OF FEB 23 - FEB 27
Did You Hear? No School Tomorrow

Well, it's official: Summit has canceled school tomorrow due to the blizzard they are predicting is hitting us tonight and into tomorrow during the day.

Please stay warm and stay safe!

An Important Note from Mrs. Grimaldi

We get it. It's cold. There's a lot of snow out there. Getting out of bed in the morning is hard. The roads suck and traffic is a beast. There are a million reasons your kids are arriving late to school. But it's happening in large numbers, and it's disrupting instruction in the classroom.

A reminder that the school is open every day at 6 am, and they serve breakfast too! So please consider encouraging your students to leave a little earlier, or if you're driving them, try exiting the house even five minutes earlier.

Getting to school early sure beats the stress of sitting in the backup on Kent Place or Weaver.

Thank you for your help with this!

Get Your Tickets to BIG FISH -- Shows Are This Week!
Tickets Now on Sale!

After last year’s acclaimed production of The Prom—winner of the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award for Outstanding Overall Production—Summit High School’s Performing Arts Department is preparing to enchant audiences once again with the inspiring and heartwarming musical Big Fish.

Based on the acclaimed film by Tim Burton and the novel by Daniel Wallace, Big Fish is a fantastical, family-friendly musical that celebrates imagination, family, and the power of stories. Big Fish follows Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman whose larger-than-life stories of giants, witches, and mermaids captivate everyone around him. But his son, Will, about to become a father himself, yearns to uncover the truth behind his father’s tall tales. As Will sets out to untangle fact from fiction, Big Fish explores themes of love, courage, and the search for identity.

Performances will be held in the Summit High School Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb.25 at 6 pm and Thursday, Feb. 26 through Saturday, Feb.28 at 7 pm. Purchase tickets at https://cur8.com/projects/hilltopper.

The SEF gives hundreds of thousands of dollars straight to our students in the district every year, and every school is so grateful for all of their support. Now it's our turn to support them and keep the giving going!
