After last year’s acclaimed production of The Prom—winner of the Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award for Outstanding Overall Production—Summit High School’s Performing Arts Department is preparing to enchant audiences once again with the inspiring and heartwarming musical Big Fish.
Based on the acclaimed film by Tim Burton and the novel by Daniel Wallace, Big Fish is a fantastical, family-friendly musical that celebrates imagination, family, and the power of stories. Big Fish follows Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman whose larger-than-life stories of giants, witches, and mermaids captivate everyone around him. But his son, Will, about to become a father himself, yearns to uncover the truth behind his father’s tall tales. As Will sets out to untangle fact from fiction, Big Fish explores themes of love, courage, and the search for identity.
Performances will be held in the Summit High School Auditorium on Wednesday, Feb.25 at 6 pm and Thursday, Feb. 26 through Saturday, Feb.28 at 7 pm. Purchase tickets at https://cur8.com/projects/hilltopper.
