Welcome Back!

On behalf of the PTO we want to wish everyone a happy new year and welcome back to school. School starts back up tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 5 at the regular time (7:45 am).

General PTO Meeting FRIDAY: Learn About Curriculum & Course Selection for Next Year

We will be hosting a general PTO meeting on Friday, Jan. 9, where we will get a chance to hear about classes being offered next year at the high school as well as learning about the trajectory for different subject matters and selecting courses. It's a great chance to get any questions answered regarding curriculum and class offerings.


The meeting will be held in person at 8:30 am,but we will also have a remote option as well. Details to come on the dial-in option. 

Reminder for MLK Holiday

A reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, Jan. 19 in honor of the MLK holiday.

Looking Ahead: MidTerms Are Coming!

Summit High School will be administering midterm exams on January 22nd, 23rd, 26th, and 27th. Midterm exams are required in all full-year and semester classes with the exception of physical education and study hall. Please ensure that your student is in attendance for all exams. We have scheduled two exams for each exam day.


Hard copies of review materials will be handed out to students no later than January 8th or 9th, depending on when their class meets.


The exam schedule is below:

Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026

8 am - 10 am: Period 1

10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Period 2


Friday, Jan. 23, 2026

8 am - 10 am: Period 3

10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Period 4


Monday, Jan. 26, 2026

8 am - 10 am: Period 5

10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Period 6


Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026

8 am - 10 am: Period 7

10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Period 8



Students are required to take their exams at the scheduled time. ny request to miss an exam must be submitted using this form and submitted to Mrs. Grimaldi by Friday, January 16, 2026.


Illness on the day of an exam is addressed by the normal procedure for calling a student out sick through the attendance office.


Any student who misses an exam without prior approval will not be allowed to take the exam.


Students will be released at 12:30 pm each exam day.


Food will be available for purchase in the cafeteria between 10 am and 10:30 am.

SPARC General Meetings and SPARC'ling Night of Stars Coming Up

There will be a SPARC general meeting Monday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 pm 
 in the SHS Media Center.

Join us to hear exciting updates, learn how SPARC is making a difference, and discover ways to get involved.  All are welcome - your voice matters!

SAVE THE DATE: SPARC'ling Night of Stars Jan. 31

The annual SPARC fundraiser, SPARC'ling Night of Stars, will take place Saturday, Jan. 31 from 7:30 to 11:30 pm at the Summit Elks Lodge. This evening always includes performances by many of Summit's talented students.
